The phone number in the ERE was not saved as the Chronicle virtual number. Return to Add your virtual number to ERE and confirm the change.
Switch from Assure to Chronicle
Move your SSA ERE monitoring from Assure to Chronicle by adding your ERE credentials in Chronicle, turning on passcode forwarding, and updating the phone number in the ERE portal to your Chronicle virtual number. Once the phone number in ERE is changed, your old Assure setup will stop receiving passcodes.
After you change the phone number in ERE to your Chronicle virtual number, your existing Assure connection will stop receiving passcodes completely. Make sure passcode forwarding is already turned on in Chronicle and your team number is entered before you make that cutover.
Before you start
Only team members with Manager / Rep, Admin, or Billing owner roles can manage ERE credentials. If you do not have one of these roles, ask an admin to update your role in Settings > Team.
Most firms using Assure have passcode forwarding configured inside Assure. Before you switch, identify every team or shared number that currently receives forwarded passcodes through Assure. You will recreate that forwarding in Chronicle.
1. Add your ERE credentials to Chronicle
In Chronicle, open Settings > Profile > ERE credentials and enter your ERE username and password. Save the credentials. See Add ERE credentials for detailed steps and screenshots.
2. Turn on passcode forwarding in Chronicle
Go to Settings > Profile > General, enter your shared team number under passcode forwarding, and turn on the Via text toggle. This replaces any forwarding you previously managed in Assure and makes sure your team keeps receiving passcodes after the cutover. See Forward passcodes to a team number for the full steps.
3. Add your Chronicle virtual number to ERE
Log into the ERE, open View/Edit Account, and change your Secure Text-enabled Cell Phone Number to your Chronicle virtual number. This is the cutover step: once saved, ERE sends passcodes to Chronicle instead of your old setup. You may need to enter a passcode from your current phone to authorize the change. See Add your virtual number to ERE for the full steps.
After the cutover
Chronicle will now receive ERE one-time passcodes directly. Your team will continue to get copies if you completed step 2. If your firm still needs Assure for other case-management tasks, you can leave it active, but it will no longer receive ERE passcodes.
