Map ERE statuses to phases and stages
Chronicle can push each case’s current ERE status into a Filevine project phase or Clio matter stage so your CMS automations fire from SSA activity. Configure the mapping under Settings → Integrations in Phase Mappings (Filevine) or Stage Mappings (Clio).
Chronicle does not overwrite manual phase or stage changes you make in Filevine or Clio. It only writes when the mapped target differs from the last value Chronicle pushed.
How status groups work
Chronicle groups raw ERE status of case values into status groups at each report level: Initial, Reconsideration, Hearing, and Appeals. In the mapping editor, each Filevine phase or Clio matter stage can be tied to one or more of these groups, or to individual statuses via Add individual statuses…. Closed (all) selects every closed outcome group across all report levels at once.
When a matched case’s ERE status changes, the next integration sync looks up the mapped phase or stage and updates Filevine or Clio if needed. For connection setup, see Connect Filevine to Chronicle or Connect Clio to Chronicle.
Status groups by level
Use these groups when you map phases or stages. Initial and Reconsideration share the same status vocabulary and the same group labels.

Configure phase or stage mappings
In Chronicle, go to Settings → Integrations, then open Filevine or Clio.
Under Field Mapping, open Phase Mappings (Filevine) or Stage Mappings (Clio).
Expand a Filevine phase or Clio matter stage row.
For each report level (Initial, Reconsideration, Hearing, Appeals), select the status group pills that should move a case into that phase or stage, or use Add individual statuses… for a narrower set.
Save the field mapping.
Rows with no statuses selected show Not mapped. Use Refresh Filevine Phases or Refresh Clio Matter Stages if the CMS list is empty or out of date.
