Connect Salesforce to Chronicle

Use Chronicle’s native Salesforce integration to sync ERE case status, consultative examinations, hearing dates, and documents directly into your Salesforce org. Chronicle matches incoming clients to existing Salesforce Contacts, Accounts, or Parties, and users can upload documents to the SSA Evidence Portal (ERE) directly from Salesforce records.

Before you start

  • You need an active Chronicle Pro subscription. Essentials plans must upgrade to Pro to access this integration.

  • You need Salesforce admin access to install packages, configure Connected Apps, create matching rules, and assign permission sets.

  • This integration works with standard Salesforce and with Litify, which runs on the Salesforce platform.

What syncs into Salesforce

Once connected, Chronicle continuously syncs the following into your Salesforce org:

  • Clients and their matched Contact, Account, or Party records

  • Case status updates from ERE

  • Consultative examinations (CEs)

  • Hearing dates and events

  • Documents from the ERE case file

Client matching

Chronicle matches ERE clients to Salesforce records using a configurable matching rule. You choose the target object—such as Contact, Account, or a custom object—and map the last-name field and SSN field that Chronicle should use for matching.

If your full SSN field is encrypted and not filterable in SOQL, you can provide an unencrypted field containing the last four digits of the SSN as a fallback.

ERE document upload

Team members who are assigned the correct Chronicle permission set can upload documents to the ERE directly from Salesforce records. This removes the need to leave Salesforce and log into Chronicle or the SSA portal to submit evidence.

Setup

Setup involves four main phases: installing the Chronicle App package in Salesforce, creating a matching rule, configuring the API connection, and assigning permission sets to users.

Follow the detailed guides below to complete configuration:

Common issues

Client matching returns no results

Confirm the matching rule in Chronicle uses the correct Salesforce object and SSN field. If the full SSN is encrypted, provide an unencrypted last-four field as a fallback.

Permission sets are missing

Assign the Chronicle permission set to users who need ERE upload access from Salesforce. Setup requires a Salesforce admin.
