Built by Operators, for Operators
Chronicle was founded in 2023 to solve a problem we saw firsthand: disability law firms drowning in manual ERE work while trying to help clients who actually need them.

Why Chronicle Exists
Before Chronicle, disability law firms spent hours every day doing the same thing: logging into the SSA's ERE portal, checking for updates case by case, passing two-factor authentication codes between team members, getting kicked out mid-session, and starting over.
That time wasn't going to clients. It was going to the SSA's outdated systems.
We built Chronicle to give that time back.
“Before Chronicle, we were constantly passing two-factor codes back and forth, getting kicked out of ERE, and struggling to keep track of updates.”
J. Shay Guess, SAM G Enterprises LLC
“The first thing I would do when I wake up in the morning is download [the ERE sheet]. Before I go to sleep, I download. It was horrible.”
William Viner, Viner Disability Law

“Chronicle was founded on a simple premise: build tools that SSD practitioners would build for themselves if they had the engineering resources.”

How We Work
We Listen First
Michele Marois of Anderson Marois & Associates describes the difference: "Nikhil (Chronicle's founder) wanted to listen. He didn't just want to sell me something. He really wants to make our work better."
We Build Just for SSD
Chronicle isn't a generic legal tool adapted for disability law. It's built from the ground up for SSD workflows: ERE monitoring, medical chronology, hearing prep, and the operational patterns that disability firms actually use.
We Iterate Based on Real Workflows
The firms using Chronicle shape what we build next. Features come from actual operational needs, not theoretical use cases.
Frequently Asked Questions
Chronicle was founded by Nikhil Pai in 2023. Before building Chronicle, Nikhil saw firsthand how disability law firms were losing hours every day to manual ERE work. Chronicle's team builds exclusively for Social Security disability workflows; we don't adapt generic legal software to fit SSD.
We build based on what firms using Chronicle actually need. Features come from real operational pain points, not theoretical use cases. Firms regularly see their feedback reflected in product updates within days, not quarters.
Since 2023. Today, more than 2,100 disability professionals use Chronicle to monitor more than 177,000 cases and 7.5 million SSA documents.
Yes. Chronicle is SOC 2 Type II certified, meaning an independent auditor has verified that our security controls meet the standards set by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The audit evaluates how Chronicle protects client data across five trust service criteria: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. For firms handling sensitive claimant information, SOC 2 certification provides third-party assurance that Chronicle meets the operational and security standards your practice requires.
Yes. Solo practitioners with 50 cases and firms managing 3,500+ cases both use Chronicle. The pain points differ; smaller firms need protection from a single missed notice, while larger firms need monitoring at a scale that's impossible to do manually. The platform serves both.
